What is a Mucocele?
Mucocele (MYOO-koh-seal) - it is a SOFT LUMP in the mouth. Why Do I Have It? (Causes)
First and foremost, mucocele concentrates on a small salivary gland (that thing that produces saliva which is mainly made of water, mucus and enzymes.)Your saliva passes through tiny tubes also known as ducts.
When one of these ducts are cut, broken, or blocked - like when you repeatedly suck or bite your lower lip, or if you got hit in the face - the mucus pools at the affected spot and causes swelling which is called MUCOCELE.
