United Kingdom. A 32-year-old woman got herself admitted to the hospital four hours after forcefully blowing her nose causing her right eyelid to swell. It actually got so bad that she was not able to see.

The doctors at the A&E department at Leicester Royal Infirmary performed a series of test and found out that the woman has orbital emphysema, a condition wherein air builds up in the soft tissues around the eye.

Her scan also revealed a fracture in her nose, although they were not sure if this is because of the nose blowing.

According to the British Medical Journal (BMJ), "Although orbital emphysema is usually associated with trauma, this case highlights a spontaneous cause due to forceful nose blowing."

The woman was given antibiotics to treat the swelling but the doctors said it can last up to a couple of weeks before it completely heals.
